How to get a marriage license:
To obtain a marriage license, you must:

bring 2 official IDs from each person who is getting married. Your photo must appear on one of the pieces of identification.

pay the fees (they vary by municipality)
Please check the municipality's website to see if you have all the information you need to purchase a marriage license.
A marriage license is valid for 90 days from the date of issue.
Request an attestation of civil union or marriage:

To apply for an attestation of civil union or marriage, you must:

complete the Application for Certification form;

attach the required payment to the form;

send it by mail or by fax to the Directeur de l'état civil in Québec City or deposit it at one of his service counters.
